A rather small survey of palm pre and iphone users was done. By rather small I don't think it gives a good consensus of the variety of users. Palm Pre Owners like their phone. At any rate the palm pre doesn't have the apps as the iphone does but in terms of functionality probably isn't that far off. And sprint offers probably the cheapest of the unlimited plans of all the carriers. From the stand point of carriers I have used sprint off an on through the years and they have been pretty decent overall. Even though I would like to have an iPhone, I think the decision will come down to which carrier then figure out a good phone that they have. I don't have any issues using my clamshell phone or any other basic functionality phone. I would like to have a phone that goes a bit above the normal basic functionality as I don't want to have to carry a variety of devices that have overlapping functionality. That is the whole basis of the iphone as it is, to have a music player and a variety of other stuff in addition to the phone.
I have used palm products before, I have a tungsten E floating around here somewhere and enjoyed using it on a regular basis. So ideally going back to a palm wouldn't be that bad, even though the iphone may have more app selection than the iphone. It is tempting either way, I still have a little time before I can even get a new phone so I still have time to deliberate. Maybe by then a really nice android phone will come out to add to the mix.
